Here’s how it works.

1. Sign up or log in to Spotify For Artists from a desktop computer. Your unreleased music will be found in the music section under’Upcoming_’.

2. Select the unreleased track you would like to submit from this section.

3. If you have an album or EP, select one track and submit it.

4. Please complete the playlist submission Form and provide as much information about the track.

These are some important things to remember before you submit your music.

Unreleased tracks cannot be used for playlists.

You will need to distribute your songs and pitch them for playlisting.

You are limited to submitting one track at a given time.

After that track has been released, you can submit another unreleased track.

Submissions must be received at least seven days before your release date

Be prepared.

Provide as much information and insight as you can about your music. Spotify needs a lot of data to match your music with the right playlists. Editors will search for new music based on the data provided. Please give them a hand by providing details about the genre, mood, and any other relevant information to your track.

Only a desktop computer is allowed to submit the form. This form is not accessible on mobile.

TIP: Even if your submission is not selected for an editorial playlist, submitting your music via Spotify for Artists at least one week before your release date will guarantee that you’ll be added to your Follower’s Release Radar playlists.

Step-by-step submissions to Spotify for Artists

After your track has been uploaded on Spotify and is visible in your Spotify For Artists Upcoming releases, you can submit it.

Let’s look at some of what Spotify requests. The more information you provide about your music, the better!

Spotify’s playlist editors need to know everything about your track, including its style, genre, mood, and culture. You can choose from various options, so ensure that the ones you select match your music.

Additional information about your track will also be required. Spotify offers playlists specifically tailored for instrumentals, covers, and remixes. If your music falls under any of these categories, let Spotify know!

Official Spotify playlists can also be location-based, with editors searching for tracks by people from specific parts of the globe.

To give playlist editors more context, you should include a description of your music. This could include your writing and production process and how you plan to promote it.

Please allow at least 1-2 weeks for inspection. We recommend selecting a release date at least 6 weeks from the date you submit for distribution to allow enough time to promote your music and ensure your release date is honored.

Spotify is opening playlist submission to everyone. This gives rising artists a greater chance to land on Spotify’s major playlists.

There is a lot to choose from. Spotify has around 75,000 artists featured on their playlists every week. But, many others are missing out.
